Reno Dakota on "Reno Dakota"

Pitchfork posted this clip from Strange Powers: Stephin Merritt and The Magnetic Fields of Reno Dakota discussing The Magnetic Fields' song named after him:

It's marvelous!  He talks about his relationship with Stephin (and the unfortunate parameters he placed upon it), how the song has effected his life, and a strange visit to a cool-sounding doctor.  But, in the coolest part of all, he sings his response song entitled (cleverly) "Stephin Merritt," the lyrics to which have forever been published in LD Beghtol's legendary tome in tribute to 69 Love Songs.  What a wonderful little clip!

  1. Brilliant. I'll get to see the film any year now.

  2. Yeah, it's quite frustrating. A Chicago screening has been confirmed, but dates and times are perpetually TBD. I swear, they're only doing it to ruin my life.
